Troubleshooting 101: What to Do if Your W5600X Sounds an Alarm

It can be a bit startling when your Frewico W5600X suddenly stops and starts beeping while high up on a window. However, don't panic! The alarm is a built-in safety feature designed to protect the robot and your glass.

Most alerts are simple to fix. Here is your quick guide to understanding what your robot is trying to tell you and how to get it back to work.

1. The "Safety Check" Alarm (Red/Blue Flashing)

The Scenario: You just turned on the robot, but it beeps and won't start.

• The Cause: This is usually because the UPS (Emergency Battery) is not fully charged. For safety, the W5600X will not begin a cleaning cycle unless it has enough backup power to hold onto the glass during a blackout.

• The Fix: Plug the robot into power and wait until the indicator light turns Green. This means the backup battery is ready to protect the robot if the power fails.

2. The "Air Leak" Alarm

The Scenario: The robot stops near a window frame or a seal and starts beeping.

• The Cause: The Pressure Sensors have detected a drop in vacuum levels. This often happens if the robot has driven over a thick window seal, a very wide grout line, or reached the edge of a frameless pane.

• The Fix: Use the remote control to drive the robot away from the edge or the obstacle. Check if the microfiber cloth is bunched up or improperly attached, as this can also break the vacuum seal.

3. The "Power Failure" Emergency Alarm

The Scenario: A continuous, loud beep sounds and the robot stops moving.

• The Cause: External power has been cut (the cord was unplugged or there is a blackout).

• The Fix: The UPS is now keeping the robot on the glass. Act immediately. Use the safety rope to gently pull the robot back to a reachable area and remove it from the glass. Do not try to restart it until stable power is restored.

4. The "Slipping" Warning

The Scenario: The robot is moving but seems to be "skating" in place or moving crookedly.

• The Cause: The glass or the cleaning pads are too wet. If you spray too much water or cleaning solution, the friction-based drive wheels lose traction.

• The Fix: Pause the robot. Replace the damp pads with dry ones, or wipe the excess moisture off the robot's tracks and the glass. In the future, use the "Auto Spray" mode or mist the glass more sparingly.

5. The "Obstacle" Alert

The Scenario: The robot hits a frame and keeps beeping instead of turning.

• The Cause: The friction on the frame is too high, or the robot is stuck in a tight corner.

• The Fix: Use the remote control to manually steer it back. Check if the 72mm body is catching on a security bar or window handle.
