How to Inspect a Window Robot Power Cable and Safety Rope Before Cleaning
Before using a window cleaning robot, inspect the power cable, adapter, connectors, safety rope, carabiner, anchor, and planned routing. Stop when you see exposed conductors, crushed or heat-damaged cable sections, loose connectors, cuts or fraying in the rope, damaged hardware, or an unstable anchor. Do not repair safety equipment with tape, knots, or unapproved parts.
This is a visual pre-use check, not a replacement schedule. The correct service life depends on the exact component, its condition, and the manufacturer's instructions.
Disconnect before inspection
Inspect the equipment before placing the robot on glass. Keep the robot powered off and disconnected while you handle the cable, adapter, connectors, and rope.
Work in good light on a dry surface. Do not test a damaged cable by plugging it in, and do not handle electrical parts with wet hands.
Start at the power adapter
Look at the adapter housing for cracks, separation, discoloration, heat marks, deformation, moisture, or a loose cable entry. Check that the plug pins and sockets look straight and clean.
Do not open the adapter or attempt an internal repair. If the housing or cable entry is damaged, stop using it and contact the manufacturer or an authorized service source.
Inspect the full cable length
Run your eyes along the cable without pulling or sharply bending it. Look for cuts, exposed conductors, crushed areas, flattened sections, tight kinks, melted insulation, burn marks, or places where the outer covering has separated.
Pay extra attention near plugs, connectors, strain-relief sections, and any point that may have rubbed against a frame or sharp edge. Do not cover damage with tape and return the cable to service.
Check each connector
Inspect every connector used between the power source, adapter, extension lead supplied for the model, and robot. A connector should fit as designed without wobbling, visible damage, contamination, or moisture.
Do not force mismatched connectors together. Similar-looking adapters are not automatically interchangeable, even when they fit the same socket.

Inspect the safety rope from end to end
Look along the full rope for cuts, fraying, melted fibers, flattened areas, discoloration, chemical contamination, loose stitching, damaged loops, or changes in shape. Check the robot attachment and carabiner for cracks, distortion, corrosion, looseness, or parts that do not close as intended.
Do not invent a retirement date when the manufacturer provides none. Visible damage or uncertain hardware condition is enough reason to stop and request a model-appropriate replacement.

Check the anchor before every elevated-use cycle
Use a fixed, immovable indoor anchor that can accept the safety setup described in the model manual. Check the anchor itself, not only the knot or carabiner.
Avoid movable furniture, loose handles, decorative rails, temporary hooks, or objects whose strength and attachment are uncertain. Do not assume that a heavy-looking object is secure.

Plan cable and rope routing together
Route the power cable and safety rope so they can follow the robot without pulling sideways, catching on a handle, rubbing a sharp frame edge, crossing a hot surface, or becoming trapped in a door or window.
Keep the rope's safety function independent from cable organization. Do not tie the power cable and rope together in a way that transfers tension or makes retrieval harder.

Confirm the inspection after setup
After routing the cable and attaching the rope, check the connectors and anchor again. Make sure closing a door, moving a curtain, or changing the robot's starting position has not introduced a pinch point or snag.
Keep the robot supervised during cleaning. Stop if a connector loosens, the cable or rope catches, the anchor moves, or the robot's path creates unexpected tension.

How often should I replace a window robot safety rope?
Follow the model instructions and replace it when damage or uncertain hardware condition appears. Do not use a universal time interval when the manufacturer has not provided one.
Can I tape a damaged power cable?
No. Do not return a damaged cable to use after a tape repair. Disconnect it and arrange an approved replacement or authorized service.
Can I anchor the rope to furniture?
Use the fixed, immovable indoor anchor described by the model instructions. Movable furniture or an uncertain attachment is not an acceptable substitute.
Does UPS protection replace cable inspection?
No. UPS power-off protection is temporary help after an unexpected interruption. Normal cleaning still depends on a sound plug-in power connection.
